Deepa Subramaniam has spent 15+ years leading large product teams to collaboratively build innovative digital products with mass reach for all platforms.
Before starting Wherewithall with Lara Hogan, Deepa was the Vice President of Product and Design at Kickstarter. Prior to joining Kickstarter, she was the Director of Product at Hillary for America where she helped lead product for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. Her areas of focus included online fundraising, the hillaryclinton.com experience and bespoke policy and rapid response digital products.
Deepa is currently on the Board of Directors for DonorDrive (parent company: Global Cloud). DonorDrive is one of the best peer-to-peer fundraising platforms which has helped worthy causes raise over $1 billion.
Before Hillary for America, Deepa led product at charity: water, a non-profit dedicated to bringing clean water to the developing world. She started her career at Adobe, first as a Computer Scientist on Flex and later as a principle lead in the creation of Creative Cloud.
She champions data-driven design iteration, achieving high-velocity team output in fast-paced environments, and building collaboration and joy into company culture.
Deepa joins Ryan Carson’s podcast, Educate Yourself, to talk about taking chances with your career, conquering professional doubts, the power of networking and how design-driven technology is helping to solve global problems.
Deepa is a force multiplier on any product organization. She elevates and inspires the teams she leads to do the best work of their careers. She is one of the most innovative, passionate and effective product leaders I’ve ever worked with.
Matt Tucker, Chief Technology Officer, Paladin
Deepa is an incredibly smart and adaptable leader that has helped many product teams cut through all the noise in order to focus on solutions that drive real business impact.
Kyle Rush, Vice President of Engineering, Casper
Deepa finds that special balance between big-picture product-strategy and pragmatic getting-things-done. Her teams love her because her energy is infectious, her commitment is unwavering, and she understands how to harmonize business and customer needs. I can’t wait to work with her again.
What is exceptional about Deepa is her ability to create healthy and creative environments for collaboration between product, design and engineering. Everyone has a seat at the table, everyone has a voice and when decisions are made Deepa leads teams through execution with precision and a healthy dose of joy. The product executive I most hope to work with again, and would fight to hire at any future venture, is Deepa.
